Boonville-Farmers Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 03/23/2010

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Receipts: 413 Week Ago: 1420 Year Ago: 1291

Compared to last week, a light supply of feeder cattle sold with a
higher undertone. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Snow and ice in the local
area over the weekend made roads dangerous one day and worsened the mud
conditions the next, and as a result receipts were severely curtailed. Supply
light and demand moderate to good. Cows and bulls accounted for 33 percent of
the total offering. The feeder supply consisted of 45 percent steers and bulls
and 55 percent heifers; 40 percent of all the feeders weighed over 600 lbs.
