Joseph Martin Rinehart, 63, of Chillicothe, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. There will be a family visitation Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe. Born Aug. 16, 1946, in Chillicothe, he was the son of Clyde and Thelma (Chambers) Rinehart. He was a 1964 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg in 1971, with a B.S. in business. On June 26, 1982, in Utica, he married Dana Crookshank, who survives of the home. He was employed by the City of Chillicothe for 37 years, with 29 years as the fire chief. He was a member of Chillicothe Elks Lodge 656 in Chillicothe and Association of Fire Chiefs.
Survivors also include one son, Joey Rinehart of Chillicothe; one daughter, Melissa Olson and husband, Brandon, of Chillicothe; one brother, Randy Rinehart of Marshall; one sister, Sandy Machholz of Marshall; one grandchild, Kaya Goldman of Chillicothe; one nephew, Mike Machholz and wife, Janine; and one niece, Angela Driskell and son, Noah, of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, two nephews and one niece.
