Forgery charges filed against Marshall man

Thursday, March 11, 2010
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday, March 9, for Michael D. Dickerson, 33, of Marshall, who is charged with four counts of class C felony forgery.

According to an incident report filed by Marshall police, Dickerson used a debit card belonging to someone else to obtain goods and/or services at a number of Marshall businesses in late February, in some cases signing his own name to the receipt.

Police also say Dickerson left behind a fishing license with his name on it in a room he rented at a local motel using the card. The card's real owner reported he lost his wallet a few days before the charges showed up on his checking account.

In at least two of the incidents involving the use of the card, surveillance videos captured Dickerson's image as the card user.

Dickerson is being charged as a prior and persistent offender; his criminal history includes four forgery convictions in 2006. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to seven years in Missouri Department of Corrections, or up to one year in county jail, and/or up to a $5,000 fine on each count.

Charges contained in reports provided by law enforcement officials are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting charges must be presented before a jury, whose duty is to determine if the accused is guilty or not guilty of the charges.

I agree there is no hope for him.

OH Oh this guy is a real winner lol lol lol.

He has to be one of the worst forgery "artists" I have ever read about.

Perhaps he should just consider giving up crime altogether and get a real job...after he gets out of the big house because he obviously isn't very good at being a successful criminal lol lol lol.
