Marshall Community Chorus joins forces with KC Metro Mens Chorus to benefit Marshall Food Pantry

Wednesday, March 10, 2010
We are all aware that the current economic condition of our world is making it harder for people to make ends meet. No facet of life has gone untouched in some way or another. Imagine how much harder it is for those who are unemployed, homeless or raising large families on reduced incomes.

This Sunday, March 14, the Marshall Community Chorus will host a concert with guest

choir the Kansas City Metro Mens Chorus as a benefit for the Marshall Food Pantry.

The concert begins at 3:00 PM in the auditorium of Bueker Middle School and will feature both choirs singing individual sets of music of their own choosing. The concert is sure to be entertaining with both classical and Broadway selections being programmed.

The concert will conclude with the combined choirs performing the spiritual River in Judea, an original contemporary choral work titled The Awakening and the ever popular Battle Hymn of the Republic which is sure to bring the audience to its feet.

The Kansas City Metro Mens Chorus is under the direction of Noel Fulkerson, a Malta Bend native, and draws its singers from around metropolitan and suburban Kansas City. The Marshall Community Chorus is under the direction of Ron Sayer, director of choirs at Marshall High School.

This concert has been organized by Marshall Councilman Ron Duvall, a high school classmate of Fulkerson, and a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the food pantry.

The members of both of these choral organizations are volunteers that give of their time and talent in weekly rehearsals in preparation for their concert appearances and enjoy giving back to their communities through such performances.
