County road worker receives raise; veterans group plans to donate flag

Wednesday, March 10, 2010
At their meeting Wednesday morning, March 10, Saline County Commissioners approved an annual pay increase for an employee in the county road and bridge department.

Jeff Moseley's hourly wage will increase from $11.09 to $12.67, now that he is properly licensed to drive all county equipment, Southern District Commissioner Richard "Dick" Hassler said.

In other business, commissioners received a visit from Charles Guthrie of the Slater American Legion. He said that organization would like to donate a POW-MIA flag to hang in the courthouse rotunda once renovation work is complete. Commissioners accepted Guthrie's offer.

The commission will meet again Thursday, March 11, at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the courthouse.
