Virginia A. Meyer, 99, of Slater, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. David L. Duncan officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Meyer, Carl Meyer, Billy Meyer, Troy Meyer, Paul Meyer and Chris Wolfe. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat.

Born Sept. 14, 1910, near Gilliam, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Georgia Level Bossaler. On Oct. 18, 1927, in Gilliam, she married Clarence G. "Pat" Meyer, who preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1980. She was a member of Gilliam Baptist Church and a lifelong Saline County resident.

She is survived by three sons, W. D. "Bill" Meyer of rural Slater, Kenneth Meyer of Rancho Cardona, Calif., and Donald Meyer of Foley; two sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Marshall and Mae Vernold of Slater; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Meyer; six brothers; and three sisters.
