Maud Emma Knutz, 96, of Marshall, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with the Rev. Drew Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia. Casket bearers will be Richard Marshall, Mark Nutter, Brad Beebe, Bobbie Lee and Owen Fox. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Sedalia or Sedalia Symphony Society. Born Oct. 29, 1913, in Winnipeg, Canada, she was the daughter of Claude and Cora Hoffman Holmes. On June 30, 1930, she married Norvin Stephenson, who died in 1935. In 1938, she married Thomas W. Marshall, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 18, 1971, in Warsaw, she married Nick J. Knutz Jr., who died Jan. 29, 1984. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marshall and a former member of First Baptist Church of Sedalia, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Helen G. Steele Music Club and the Compass Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Norvalee Kolar of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Mary Louise Hollingsworth of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas W. Marshall; and three sisters, Mildred Jones, May Belle Finkenstein and Margaret Holmes.
