Weather or not: Area activities affected by weather Feb. 9

--Sue Long Family Literacy program classes at First United Methodist Church are canceled for Tuesday. Classes will resume Wednesday morning, weather permitting.

--Stitch By Stitch Quilters' Guild meeting canceled for Tuesday.

--Salt Fork YMCA canceled gymnastics, group swim lessons and youth basketball practice for Tuesday.

--Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday is canceled.

--Marshall schools will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 9, and all activities canceled.

--Miami school will be closed Tuesday.

--Malta Bend school will be closed Tuesday and the basketball game vs. Bunceton is also canceled.

--Sweet Springs schools will be closed Tuesday but games vs. Windsor are still scheduled to be played and will begin at 5 p.m.

--St. Peter Catholic School will be closed Tuesday and all activities canceled.

I think its B.S. they called off school I was out in the country tuesday the roads were not bad back in the 70s an 80s it took blizzards to call off school not these days a skift of snow on the road seems like we call off school for the day

We publish closings when someone from the school provides the information to us. We invite all school officials in the county to email marshalleditor@socket.net or call 660-886-2233 to let us know when they cancel classes or activities.
