English poured in 33 points during the final three frames as the Lady Pirates recovered from an early deficit for a 58-40 NCMC win at Marshall.
Without English on the floor, Boonville fell behind the Lady Owls, 11-6, during the opening period -- junior Alexis Benton coming off the bench to hit two shots and sophomore Jasmine Jackson knocking down a three-pointer.
English began the Lady Pirates' rally with 14 points during the second quarter, creating a 23-all halftime tie. She added another 10 points as Boonville went on a 20-7 third-quarter run, then helped nail down the win by going five of six from the free-throw line down the stretch.
Other than English, who racked up 39 points Monday against winless Hannibal, the Lady Pirates (13-6, 6-3 NCMC) didn't demonstrate a lot of offensive punch -- freshman Bailey Pfeiffer the only other player to score in double figures with 10 points.
Sophomore Allea Summers led Marshall (2-17, 2-7) with 10 points, with Benton contributing nine points and four rebounds and junior Jalisah Jackson and freshman Alex Bledsoe each logging seven points.
The Lady Owls will be at home Monday for a non-conference tilt with Helias.
