Alpha Mae Erickson, 86, of rural Malta Bend, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Kyle Baker, Jarrod Erickson, Jacob Erickson, Jeremy Behrends, Teddy Erickson and Travis Erickson. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Aug. 10, 1923, in Jordon, she was the daughter of the late William Stark and Mary Parks Stark. On Dec. 26, 1941, she married Otto Erickson, who survives of the home. She was a homemaker and had worked at Banquet Foods in Marshall. She was a member of Malta Bend Baptist Church. She was known as the "strawberry lady," loved to garden and was an excellent cook.
Additional survivors include her children, Sharon Kay Henderson of Marshall, William Lee "Bill" Erickson and wife, Marlene, of Marshall, Brenda Corf and husband, Richard, of Marshall, Janice Baker and husband, Howard "Butch," of Warsaw, Daniel Paul "John" Erickson and wife, Anita, of Marshall, and Melody Long of Pleasant Hill; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.
