J.W. Moore, 86, of Warsaw, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at his home.
At his request no services will be held, and burial will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Nov. 7, 1923, in Saline County, he was the son of the late John Wesley Moore and Hallie Van Crawford Moore. On July 31, 1943, he married Gertrude Barton, who survives of Marshall. He had lived in Warsaw the past few years, moving from Marshall, and was a truck driver for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Additional survivors include twin daughters, Lila Williams of Springfield and Lola Moore of Marshall; one granddaughter, Angela Gott of Bolivar; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; his companion, Myrtle Hensley of Warsaw; three brothers, Clyde W. Moore of Slater, Maurice Moore of Marshall and Robert Moore of Independence; one sister, Betty Carver of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
