After both teams gave up defaults, the Owls got back-to-back pins from sophomore Brandon Standley (119 pounds) and senior Jacob Teague (125) for an 18-6 lead.
Marshall was still ahead, 18-12, when freshman Marc Plummer (135) battled junior Taylor Folkes to a scoreless tie through two periods. Ranked No. 10 at 130 pounds in Class 2 by MissouriWrestling.com, Folkes -- in his first match at 135 -- got a takedown and near-fall during the final frame to pull out a 5-0 decision.
Moberly (16-6, 4-2 NCMC) closed out the dual with four pins and a technical fall, to go along with the visitors' three open weight classes.
The Owls (4-11, 0-6) are done for the regular season and will await the Class 2, District 12 Tournament, Feb. 12-13 at Mexico, for their chance to advance to the MSHSAA Championships.
