The Lady Greyhounds had their chances, getting 70 field-goal attempts -- but making only 17 of them. However, they could never contain senior Shauna Bauml, who hit three shots during the fourth quarter to add to the Lady Trojans' one-point lead entering the frame.
Sophomore Brittany Higgins scored eight points and senior Kathleen Tyler connected twice from outside to give Sweet Springs a one-point halftime lead, but eight point by senior JoLynn Glorioso in the third period put St. Mary's on top.
Bauml finished with 17 points and Glorioso had 11 for the Lady Trojans (6-6).
Higgins' 14 points and 11 rebounds and 12 points from senior Jodie Harris paced the Lady 'Hounds (12-5), who have a non-conference tilt today at Wildcat Classic champion Slater.
