Kenneth K. "Kenney" Hollingsworth, 66, of rural Sweet Springs, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs, with Rev. David Goode officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Nov. 24, 1943, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. Hollingsworth and Helen L. Simmons Hollingsworth. He was a graduate of Sweet Springs R-7 High School and served in the U.S. Navy after graduation. In 1964, in Sweet Springs, he married Joyce Schnakenberg, who survives of the home. He owned and operated Kenney's MFA Service for 45 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Barbee Lodge No. 217 A.F. & A.M. and Sweet Springs American Legion Post 279, as well as serving on the I-70 Medical Center Board of Directors. He was a former member of the Sweet Springs Lions Club and Sweet Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Annette K. Hopper of Oak Grove and Ken P. Hollingsworth of Sweet Springs; and two grandchildren.
