Nellie M. Cobb, 91, of Slater, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "How Great Thou Art" and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Muse, Justin Bachtel, Junior Case, Charlie Case, Larry Case and Gary Case. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Slater Senior Center.
Born March 24, 1918, in Frankford, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Gertrude Sleyster Miles. On Oct. 24, 1936, in Marshall, she married Tyrus Raymond Cobb, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater and a lifelong Saline County resident.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Cobb of rural Gilliam and Bobby Cobb of Slater; three daughters, Betty Nease of Bolivar, Mae Muse of Slater and Norma Case of Malta Bend; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lynn of Kansas City and Rosie Williams of Frankford.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Miles and Emory Miles, and a sister, Joyce Tennill.
