Who has filed to be on the April ballot for other local government seats?

In April, many area municipal governments, school districts and other public bodies will hold elections for members of their ruling boards. The filing period to sign up as a candidate in these elections is from Dec. 15 to Jan. 19. Below is a list of the open positions of miscellaneous elected offices in the county.

Steven Graber's three-year term as commissioner on the Malta Bend Road District commission is expiring in April, but thus far, no one has filed as a candidate in the election. To sign up, call 660-202-7481.

The Marshall Special Road District Commission has one three-year term available. To file, call Betty Vest at 660-886-5566.

The Saline County 911 Commission has two four-year terms in both the south and north districts of the county that will be on the April ballot.

Incumbents are John Rieves, Cathie Jeffries, Jack Lenz Jr. and Corbin Allred. So far, only Allred and Derrick Liggett have filed as candidates. To sign up, call the Saline County Clerk's office at 660-886-3331.

Two three-year terms on the Saline County Ambulance District #3 board, one each for Area Number 4 and 6, are up for election. Keith Broyles and Wayne O'Neal are those currently in the positions, and Broyles is the only person to have filed as a candidate thus far. On the Saline County Water District No. 1 Board of Directors, there are two three-year terms available, one each for sub-districts No. 2 and No. 3. Ted Frauenhoffer and Dean Phegley are currently in the positions, and they are the only people to have filed as candidates.
