"It's pretty slow, obviously," parks Director Jeff Stubblefield told the board. But, he said, "Everything is going well."
Stubblefield gave the board drafts of a request for proposal for new basketball courts at the park.
"This is a project we'd like to do," he said. And though hesitant to name a completion date added, "I'm hoping spring, summer."
After receiving board member feedback, Stubblefield said he would like to publish the request by the beginning of February in order to have bids received by some time in March.
Together, Stubblefield and Recreation Supervisor Lori Godsey have been working on the 2010 summer activity guide, which will be in a different form this year.
"We're going to do the calendars," Godsey said, instead of the usual book form.
Godsey said she has also been working on the park schedule for 2010. Registration for softball and baseball programs will begin in February.
In other business, Stubblefield reminded the public that the park is currently closed to through traffic.
Board members Sam Untiedt, Mike Lamberson, Wayne Crawford, Ronnie Hill and John Angelhow were present at the meeting.
The park board will meet again Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 5 p.m.
