George Richard Clause, 61, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Pastor Stephen Mattingly officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment with military rites will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Born May 16, 1948, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Roy R. Clause and Helen Nixon Clause. He worked for Franzia/The Wine Group, located in Ripon, Calif. for 23 years, beginning in May of 1986. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Missouri Army National Guard for nine and a half years.
He is survived by his son, Brian Clause, and his wife, Tenecia, of Pleasant Hill; his daughter, Helen Clause, and her fiance, Charles Rees, of Kansas City; five grandchildren; Johlina and Thadeaus of Kansas City and Kayla, Kelcie and Maddix of Pleasant Hill; four brothers, Roy, Bill and Larry Clause, all of Marshall, and Kenny Clause of Hardeman; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, one in infancy, Donna May Clause, and Susie Clause.
