The petitions request renewal of the road districts' tax levies be placed on the ballot for the April 2010 election. Each levy is $0.36 per $100 of assessed valuation, and will remain in effect for four years, if approved in the election.
In other tax-related matters, commissioners accepted a payment of $10,308.69 from the Missouri Conservation Commission. These are funds paid in lieu of taxes, commissioners said, as a way to make up for the conserved land being removed from the tax base.
Also during session, commissioners approved the hiring of Diane Tebbenkamp as a part-time, temporary employee in the county public administrator's office.
Commissioners will meet again Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the courthouse.

It is to renew a tax! Unless u live in one of these road districts u will not have a chance to vote on this tax nor will u be taxed! Let the taxpayer decide!
Keep taxing people and that school bond will never pass. Before you know I will have to take my pay check every month to the courthouse bypassing all my bills and food.
