Gertrude Enid Mattson, 90, of Sedalia, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home in Sedalia.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Child Safe of Sedalia. Born Aug. 30, 1919, in Long Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Richard Hanley and Abigail Marr Hanley. In 1951, she married Howard Mattson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1999. She had lived in Sedalia the past five years, previously living in Marshall, but spent many years in the state of Nevada. She had worked for the county of Santa Barbara, Calif., for 10 years, was a social worker and a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Tibbals of Yerington, Nev., and Elizabeth Gilmore of Sedalia; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Kelly; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
