Assault, drunk driving puts Brookfield man in prison

Monday, December 21, 2009
Circuit Court Judge Dennis A. Rolf sentenced Charles D. Perkins, 34, of Brookfield, to concurrent terms of 4 years and 3 years, respectively, in Missouri Department of Corrections for class D felony driving while intoxicated in June and class C felony domestic assault in the second degree in October.

According to the probable cause statement, October's assault was not the first on the same victim. Perkins pleaded guilty to class A misdemeanor domestic assault in the third degree April 16 in Linn County.

Perkins, who has two previous convictions for driving while intoxicated and eight arrests for driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license, was stopped by Marshall police in June after they received a report of an assault on a Marshall resident, in which Perkins was allegedly involved. A blood alcohol test administered at the police station indicated a BAC of 0.24 percent, three times the legal limit, according to the probable cause statement issued for the arrest.

Perkins told officers he had lost his license for 11 years and had been arrested for DWI twice before.

Rolf is inconsistent with his sentences. I believe a new judge would be the best interest for Saline County citizens.

Before too much longer the criminal aspect will be begging to go to jail.

Go to jail: get two hots and a cot, cable TV, exercise equipment, heat/air, and medical care

Stay free: no food, no tv, well you still get exercise because you have to walk places to beg for good, sweat in the summer/freeze in the winter...oh yeah and medical...yeah right
