Charles F. "Fred" Holder, 85, of rural Napton, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Ed Champion and Rev. Randy Shannon officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Nelson Baptist Church. Born June 15, 1924, in Napton, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Holder and Katie Young Holder. On June 15, 1943, he married Wadean Parker, who survives. He had lived in rural Napton his entire life and was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Nelson Baptist Church and a longtime member of Nelson Cemetery Board. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Additional survivors include his children, Charles F. Holder and wife, Cheryl, of rural Napton, Kathryn Ann Shepard and husband, Bill, of Slater and Monte D. Holder and wife, Tonya, of rural Nelson; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Holder and Harold Holder.
