Freda M. Perine, 85, of Marshall, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.
Born Aug. 9, 1924, in LaCygne, Kan., she was the daughter of the late William K. Rhynerson and Ella Mills Rhynerson. She was a graduate of LaCygne High School. On Dec. 2, 1953, in Reno, Nev., she married K.D. Perine who preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. She had lived in Marshall since 1964, moving from San Diego, Calif., She was an underwriter for Pacific Indemnity Insurance Company for six years and was a cook at Marshall High School for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Kay Elbik of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Maddex; five brothers: Frank, Harry, Oscar, Harold and Ernie Rhynerson; and four sisters, Pearl Jackson, Laura Mills, Goldie Zimmerman and Fern Carpenter.
