Collections in December totaled $57,908.80, compared to $54,456.95 in November and $56,742.99 in December 2008.
For the year, CART collections total $676,569.72, which is down from the $707,957.28 collected in 2008.
In other business, commissioners approved a bid from CLH Construction for seamless epoxy resin flooring to be installed in the new restrooms on the first floor of the courthouse. The flooring will cost $6,100, which is at least $500 less than tile, commissioners said.
"We just feel that it's going to be a longer-life flooring situation," Southern District Commissioner Richard "Dick" Hassler said.
He added that the flooring is also easier than tile to clean and maintain.
Commissioners also approved the transfer of general funds to help the county assessor's office finish paying for the Geographic Information System mapping system, purchased a couple of years ago. The total payment is about $80,000.
"We're finally getting it paid," Hassler said.
At their meeting Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, commissioners announced the receipt of federal funds for road repairs.
The county has received $40,147.20, which is 75 percent of the project cost, from the federal government.
The funds will be used to create a box culvert on part of Gladiola Avenue that was damaged during the heavy rains this past spring.
After the work is complete, Hassler said, the federal government will pay an additional 10 percent, leaving the county responsible for just 15 percent of the total cost.
In other business, commissioners said they have agreed to pay $300 to Saline County Public Administrator Mary Toliver for the work-related use of her personal cellular phone in 2009.
Beginning in 2010, commissioners said Toliver will use a separate business cell phone, to be paid for by the county.
Northern District Commissioner Norvelle "Brownie" Brown was also present at the meetings.
Commissioners will meet again Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the courthouse.
