Frances A. Pulliam, 77, of Marshall, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Barry Baugh will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "Just As I Am" and "Shall We Gather at the River." Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Andy Griffitt, Daniel Glover, Jacob Fisher, Jerry Miles, Joe Ireland, Jodie Griffitt and Rick Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Aldredge, David Griffitt, Ed Shannon, Kenneth Kirchhoff, Desiree Griffitt, Jamie Mills, Chuck Davis, Jason Pulliam, Kaylie Pulliam and Tina Miles. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.
Born June 21, 1932, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rosie Pannell Cumpton. On Jan. 22, 1950, in Marshall, she married J.L. Pulliam Sr., who survives of the home. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and a lifelong Saline County resident.
She is survived by one son, J.L. Pulliam Jr., of Saline City; three daughters, Sharon Fisher, Rose Mills and Marilyn Garriott, all of Marshall; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Betty Crawford of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Cumpton.
