David "Plumb" Gauldin, 76, of rural Malta Bend, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Union Baptist Church near Marshall, with Bob Stewart officiating. Visitation was held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church or Union Cemetery. Born June 25, 1933, in rural Saline County, he was the son of the late Alva Clifton Gauldin Sr. and Sarah Eliza Kiser Gauldin. He was a 1951 graduate of Marshall High School. On Oct. 17, 1953, he married Betsy Kirk, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a plumber and well driller for most of his life. He was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Beth Kyle and husband, Kevin, of Cole Camp and Denny Jones of Sedalia; one son, Kirk Gauldin and wife, Barbara, of Camp Point, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Lynch of Blue Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Mayse and Mary Rimmer, and three brothers, Alva Gauldin Jr., Giles Gauldin and Charles Gauldin.
