Catherine Howe Stolberg, 66, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, La., and formerly of Marshall, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Blue Hills Rest Home in Independence.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Hazel Grove Cemetery in Herndon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church or Alzheimer's Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Aug. 16, 1943, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Charles Howe and Frances Riggins Howe. She graduated from Mercy Academy in Marshall and attended Benedictine College and Loyola University in New Orleans. She was employed for numerous years at Hotel Dieu Hospital and retired from the Louisiana state medical system as a medical technician. She moved to Independence in September 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Jamie Kathryn Stolberg of New Orleans; one son, Bernard C. Stolberg II; three grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Howe Richardson of Palestine, Texas, and Susan Donna Anthony of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William "Bill" Howe.
