Marjorie Ellen Kahler, 83, of Marshall and formerly of Brunswick, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gail Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Royce Dwayne Moss, Timmy Lee Moss, Steve Kahler and Ronnie Kahler and her great-grandson Cody Moss. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Debra Lindstrom, Dottie Kahler, Michelle Robbins and Tina Kahler. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Elliot Grove Cemetery in Brunswick. Memorials may be made to Brunswick Christian Church.
Born June 15, 1926, in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of Franklin and Dolly (Cruse) Ashley. She married Franklin Kahler on Dec. 4, 1944, at Dalhart, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1979. She had worked as a nurse for 13 years. She was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church and Rucker-McAllister American Legion Post No. 7 Auxiliary of Brunswick.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Brotherton of Marshall; one son, Mike Kahler of Unionville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one grandson.
