More than 250 nativity scenes from around the world will be on display at the eighth annual Nativity Festival to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Saline County, according to a press release from event organizers.

This year, the event will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 710 E. Yerby St. in Marshall.

On Sunday, a lunch of chili or soup and pie will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a free will donation. Also on Sunday there will be performances by Bathsheba Love, Marshall Community Chorus, Missouri Valley Gospel Choir and Marshall High School Choraliers from 1 to 3 p.m.

Special music will be presented in the sanctuary on Sunday afternoon. Performers include Bathseba Love at 1 p.m., Marshall Community Choir at 1:30 p.m., Missouri Valley Gospel Choir at 2 p.m. and Marshall High School Choraliers at 2:30 p.m.

The festival will also feature a nativity store, which will offer nativities for sale, including some made from olive wood from Bethlehem, Palestine. Some nativities will be up for bid in a silent auction as well.

Select nativities will go to the highest bidder at the silent auction.

A free will donation for admission to the festival will help in the building of the 13th Habitat for Humanity house in Saline County. Thrivent Financial Lutherans will match a portion of the donations, according to the release.

Those who would like to display nativities in the festival should contact Ruth Scherer at 660-529-3310 or bring them to the church on Saturday morning, Nov. 18. Donations for the nativity store are also welcomed.

Fixed. Thanks for letting us know.

Please check the performance times you have in the article for the musical performers. Those times are not what the performers have.

I double checked and the times match what the news release said, but we'll call the organizers and see if things have changed.
