Patricia "Patty" Simmons, 51, of rural Marshall, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Born March 17, 1958, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late James Morrow and Daisy Ann Frakes Morrow Campbell. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and attended Slater Public Schools. On Aug. 15, 1975, she married Edward D. Simmons, who survives of the home. She had worked at ConAgra and Marshall Habilitation Center for nearly 20 years. For the last several years she dedicated her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Additional survivors include one son, Eddie E. Simmons, and companion, Amanda Williams, of Marshall; one daughter, Stephanie A. Simmons and fiancÚ, Chris Huskey, of Marshall; six grandchildren, Ashley, Haley and Dustyn Simmons, Kelli Lovell, Luke Huskey and Kaylee Huskey; one brother, Jimmy Lee Morrow of rural Marshall; one sister, Norma J. Maycock and husband, Doug, of rural Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jim Campbell, and one brother in infancy.
