Alert officer nabs driver with no license

Monday, November 16, 2009
A 44-year-old Marshall woman was arrested Saturday, Nov. 14, on charges she was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and was driving while her license was revoked.

The woman was observed driving on U.S. Highway 65 by a Saline County Sheriff's Deputy who knew the woman's driver's license had been revoked and stopped her vehicle near a local restaurant.

According to an incident report filed with the probable cause statement, the woman readily agreed to a search of her vehicle and her handbag. The methamphetamine was found inside the purse.

The woman was placed on a 24-hour hold at Saline County Justice Facility.

Editor's note: Our policy is to withhold the names of people allegedly involved in crimes until formal charges have been filed.

Charges contained in reports provided by law enforcement officials are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting charges must be presented before a jury, whose duty is to determine if the accused is guilty or not guilty of the charges.
