Oh, yes, the entire town is going to the dogs because there were so many crimes in one weekend. And the newspaper never prints anything that's good, well, except for all the good things they print, which, if you bother to look, is much more than these few stories.
There is no good news in Marshall. Even if there was it is so much easier to print the bad.
I noticed that six of the eight stories on the MDN current news stories listing are crime stories. Is crime going up in the Marshall area during these hard times? Is Marshall experiencing it's version of a crime wave? What were the crime stats for last year as compared to this year, if anyone has the time to check.
I've recall the old journalism adage, "If it bleeds, it leads." Seven of the eight stories on the MDN current news listing appear to be tragedies of some kind or the other.
I think I may be speaking for others, when I say, "We sure could use a little good news today."
My best wishes to all the good people of Marshall and ALL those who are struggling in these hard times. May you all be comforted and find safe and sane relief from the "heartaches and thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to." - Peace.
