During this time, food pantry workers will be stationed inside Patricia's to accept donations of both food and money from community members between 3 and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Ron Duvall, chairman of the food pantry, issued his thanks to "everyone for the support they give us."
He added that Marshall residents' need for food assistance seems to be "ever-growing," and recent months have been no exception.
Last year, he said, the food pantry made 7,100 disbursements to area families.
This isn't the first time The Marshall Democrat-News has spearheaded a fundraising effort for the Community Food Pantry, said Publisher Shelly Arth. However, she said she feels the location of this effort will make it much more convenient for donors to purchase and donate canned food to the pantry.
