The Lady Vikings out-shot their hosts from the field, 46.2 to 34.6 percent, to take a four-point lead into halftime. While Valley didn't drop off much, making 42.4 percent of their attempts, the Lady Trojans got hot -- firing at a 53.6-percent pace and sinking 17 of 20 free throws, 10 more than the Lady Vikings attempted.
Junior Michiko Namba came off the bench to add 16 points for Hannibal-LaGrange (1-2).
Junior Chelsea Quiring had 19 points for Valley, which got a strong all-around game from junior Gita Grava with 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.
The Lady Vikings (0-2) have a non-conference tilt Tuesday at Park.
