A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the new Habitat for Humanity house in the 400 block of South Redman Avenue in Marshall.

Volunteers worked Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, to pour and level the foundation for the home.

Work will continue on the house each Saturday for the next several months. Sherer said volunteers need not have construction experience to help out.

"Show up and we'll show you how," he said. "The best way to learn is by doing it."

Volunteers can sign up at LaCrosse Lumber in Marshall if they wish to participate in the project. Work begins each Saturday at about 8 a.m.
