Betty Jane (Graves) Coberley, 70, of Chillicothe, formerly of Chula, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. There will be a family visitation on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home. Friends may call on Friday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Plainview Cemetery, Chula. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for the Blind and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Born June 6, 1939, she was the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Jane (Melte) Graves in Livingston County. On June 21, 1958, in Chillicothe, she married Gerald E. Coberley. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2003. She lived most of her life on the farm in Chula.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Graves and wife, Leigh Ann, of Marshall, and J.C. Coberley and wife, Leana, of Chula; three daughters, Kim Riddle and companion, Tom Jones, of Chillicothe, Diana Mendenhall and husband, Wayne, of Mercer and Theresa Wilson and husband, Clifton, of Sturgeon; four brothers, Lawrence Graves of Purdin, Jim Graves of Brookfield, Bob Graves of Galt and Ben Graves of Chillicothe; three sisters, Donna Boley of Laclede, Ruby Stoneburner of Browning and Linda Davidson of Brookfield; 10 grandchildren, Hilary, Ponch, Ashley, Brady, Emily, Taylor, Dakota, Cheyenne, Tyler and Austin; two step-grandchildren, Brandon and Jenna; and five great-grandchildren, Austin D., Madison, Hailey, Makaya and Keonnia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Mary Lavada, and one sister, Barbara Biswell.
