Louis Heidbrink Jr., 89, of Higginsville, formerly of Concordia and Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Odessa, with Rev. Herman J. Hudson Jr. officiating. Burial was in Odessa Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Anderson, Ron Anderson, Laurie Gotsch, Greg Anderson, Mark Anderson, Gary Green, Steve Varner and Phil Varner. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Odessa, or Good Shepherd Special Care Unit, Concordia.
He was born March 28, 1920, in Odessa, the son of Louis Heidbrink Sr. and Addie Schaeperkoetter Heidbrink Sr. On March 19, 1988, in Waverly, he married Helen L. Willer Schreiman, who survives of the home. He farmed in the Odessa area until retiring. He graduated from Odessa High School and attended Central Methodist College in Fayette. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Odessa and served as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and chairman of the building committee that built the addition in 1957.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Judy Marshall, and her husband, Jim, of Concordia; Christine's brother and wife, David and Rosalia Anderson of Carrollton and their children Bob and Connie Anderson of Shawnee, Kan., Ron and Nancy Anderson of Fayette, Greg and Denise Anderson of Carrollton, Mark and Barb Anderson of Camdenton, Laurie and Charlie Gotsch of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and their families; and Helen's sister Margaret Shane, Junction City, Kan., and her family.
