The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra and guest soloist Alan Wenger earned a standing ovation from the audience Sunday, Nov. 1, following the orchestra's first concert of the 2009-2010 season.
Wenger dedicated his second performance, on "La Virgin De La Macarena" to his teachers and a famous trumpeter, Rafael Mendez, who influenced him indirectly through his teachers.
"I believe as a student we are a product of the teachers who come before us," he said.
He also noted that Sunday was his birthday and the concert was a rare opportunity to perform with his daughter, Sarah Wenger, who played violin.

Eric, you take the best pictures. Wish you had time to take all the ones that appear in the newspaper.
