Willie D. "Bill" Hardy, 64, of Mt. Leonard, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Malta Bend Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Sisney officiating.

Born Oct. 21, 1945, in French Camp, Calif., he was the son of the late Henry Leo Hardy and Myrtle Mangrum Hardy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran from 1964 to 1968, serving in Vietnam. On March 28, 1972, he married Wanda Hull, who preceded him in death June 5, 2006. He had lived in Mt. Leonard since 2001, moving from Green Ridge, and had also lived in Cottage Grove, Ore. for 20 years. He was a truck driver for 20 years, retiring in July 2006 from Cargill in Marshall. He was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
Survivors include his children, Cindy Tickameyer of Ionia, Geoff Bowers of Slater and Debbie Murray of Bunceton; his companion, Evelyn Jennings, of the home; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mattie Early of Nashville, Tenn., and Margaret Smith of Oroville, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Bowers, and one brother, Leroy Hardy.
