Trick or treating on the Marshall square Oct. 29

The Marshall Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Trick or Treating on the Square event Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Costumed children are invited to trek around the square, where local businesses and service organizations will have tables set up to hand out candy and other treats.

South Side Assembly of God Trunk or Treat Oct. 29

South Side Assembly of God, 925 W. Morrow St. in Marshall, will host a trunk or treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.

St. Peter Catholic School to host Trunk or Treat event

St. Peter Catholic School will host its fourth annual Trunk or Treat event Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 8:15 a.m. at the school.

YMCA to host 'Boo Run' and Halloween Party Oct. 31

Salt Fork YMCA will host a 5K run Saturday, Oct. 31, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Halloween party from 6 to 9 p.m. that evening.

The "Boo Run" course will start at the YMCA, 740 E. Yerby St., go through Ridge Park Cemetery and Indian Foothills Park and end back at the YMCA.

Fee for the run is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers. Almost 60 people have already signed up, according to Lisa McComas, YMCA wellness director.

The party that night is free and open to the community, McComas said.

MVCAA to host haunted house Oct 29-31

Missouri Valley Community Action Agency will host a haunted house fundraiser Thursday, Oct. 29, through Saturday, Oct. 31 at 126 W. Russell St. in Marshall.

The haunted house will be open 6 p.m. to midnight each night.

Admission per person is $5, one new tory or five non-perishable food items.

Proceeds, including donated items, will go to the Saline County Holiday Project. The Prosperity Team and food pantry will also benefit from the event.

Marshall Aquatic Center Spook Fest set for Oct. 29-31

Marshall Parks and Recreation Department and the Missouri Valley College American Humanics group will present "Spook Fest at the MAC" Thursday, Oct. 29, through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Hours will be 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, and 8 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Cost is $5, but group rates are available. Call 660-886-7128 for more information.

'Trunk or Treat' event gets green light from Sweet Springs council

A portion of Miller Street in Sweet Springs will be closed Saturday, Oct. 31, for a "trunk or treat" event sponsored by the Optimist Club and Home and School organizations.

Organizers plan to have a costume contest at 3 p.m. and trick-or-treating from 4 to 5 p.m. that day.
