Delveta M. Heather, 72, of Slater, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born May 28, 1937, in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late John L. Reeves and Maude Wilson Reeves. On Jan. 10, 1957, in Marshall, she married Bobby Dean Heather, who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1998. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Marshall. She retired from Marshall Habilitation Center and also worked at Mar-Saline Manor, Vanderpool Residential Care and Georgia Brown Blosser Home for the Aged.
Survivors include two children, Charlotte Stockman Johnson of rural Gilliam and Bob M. Heather Sr. of rural Gilliam; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Medcalf of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Reeves, and three sisters, Thelma Ford, Juanita Highfill and one in infancy.
