During halftime of the Marshall football game Friday seniors Aubrie Plummer and Chase Kempf were named Homecoming Queen and King.
Plummer is a member of the Lady Owls' volleyball team, an "A" honor roll achiever and secretary of the student council. The daughter of Allen and Dawn Plummer, she is captain of Dance Force and historian for DECA. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
Kempf, the son of Greg and Jayne Kempf, is a captain on the football team and also a baseball player. He plans to attend either a four-year college or a technical school.
While Plummer was escorted by her father and classmate Pedro Ruiz, Kempf was accompanied by his mother and fellow senior Cassie Hemeyer.
The other queen candidates were Jordan Reith, the daughter of Steve and Penny Shannon, escorted by her father and senior Josh Toliver, and Kellin Townsend, the daughter of Terry and Stacey Townsend and escorted by her father and senior Trey Clemons.
Also nominated for king were Lucas Hart, son of Kevin and Terry Hart and escorted by his mother and classmate Kristen McCorkle, and Zach Smith, son of Marty and Debbie Smith and accompanied by mother and senior Kate Hartley.
Presenting the crowns were last year's royal couple, Maddy Keller and Mac Evans. The crownbearers were Averi Coleman, daughter of Bucky and Erica Coleman, and Nicholas Brown, son of Maureen and the late Jeff Brown. Grand Marshal for the Homecoming parade was recently retired Marshall High School principal Carol Smith.
Bottila, Fennewald honored at MVC Homecoming

Bottila is an elementary education major from St. Louis and captain of the Valley women's soccer team. Fennewald is a golfer from Vandalia and is majoring in business with a concentration on markerting. He also serves as head coach of the Lady Vikings' junior varsity basketball team.
Their court was comprised of queen candidates Tracy Plexico of Marshall and Kim Smith of Lebanon and king nominees Kyle Kovach of St. Peters and Daniel Jaegers of Linn.
