Monday, October 26, 2009

Two Concordia residents were injured Sunday, Oct. 25, in a one-vehicle crash in Saline County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The crash occurred about 3:10 p.m. as Brandon S. Foose, 26, of Sweet Springs, was driving southbound on Concord Road at Barry Bridge, according to the report.

Foose swerved the vehicle to miss a deer. The 1999 Chevrolet traveled off the left side of the road and struck tree, troopers said.

Foose was not reported injured, but two passengers were hurt.

Steven J. Cooper, 26, suffered moderate injuries, and Shauna R. Foose, 24, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken by Sweet Springs ambulance to I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs, troopers said.

Neither passenger was wearing a safety device and it was unknown whether the driver was wearing a safety device, according to the report.
