Bill B. Berlin, 81, of Marshall, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Westport Estates Assisted Living in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Marshall, with Rev. Pam Sebastian officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Feb. 8, 1928, in Nelson, he was the son of the late Nathaniel W. Berlin and Beatrice Brown Berlin. He had lived in Marshall most of his life. On June 13, 1953, in Marshall, he married Patricia Springgate, who preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 1999. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and University of Missouri-Columbia. He retired as general manager for Cargill Feed Company and served on the Sheltered Workshop board for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa McGuire and her husband, Robert, of Lenexa, Kan.; two sons, Bryan B. Berlin and his wife, Barbara, of rural Marshall and Bradley B. Berlin of Ashburn, Va.; three grandchildren, Benjamin McGuire, Miranda Berlin and Brady Berlin; two step-grandchildren, Lisa Foster and Brad Hightower; one step-great-granddaughter, Nina Monzon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Berlin Sr., Merle Berlin and one in infancy, and one sister, Doris Williams.
