Seniors Meredith Norfleet and Mariah Wiskur combined for 16 kills to lead the Lady Mustangs (15-13).
Senior Kristin Jones' knocked down four shots to pace the Lady Greyhounds, while senior Kathleen Tyler had three kills, five digs, six assists and a pair of aces.
"We played slow in Game 1 [and] dwelled on our mistakes," noted Sweet Springs head coach Kristen Niemeyer. The second set, "we came back and played like a team."
Senior Kim Rennison had eight saves and senior Jodie Harris blocked three shots for the Lady 'Hounds (8-12-1).
Sweet Springs lost both pool matches it played Saturday in the Lone Jack Tournament, 25-18, 25-22 to Knob Noster and 25-11, 25-17 to eventual champion St. Mary's of Independence -- the fourth-ranked team in Class 2.
Jones had seven kills and three blocks during the meet, with Rennison contributing 22 digs and junior Shelby Hayworth and sophomore Brittany Higgins each serving up three aces.
The Lady 'Hounds close out I-70 Conference play today at St. Paul, No. 9 in Class 2 and the league tourney champion.
