On Saturday, Oct. 10, four vocal students from Marshall High School were selected to be members of the 2010 Missouri All-State Choir, MHS Choir Director Ron Sayer announced Monday, Oct. 12.

Taylor Witcher, alto; Jacob Phillips and Dylan Fornshell, tenors; and Brandon Pace, bass, were among the 16 students chosen for the choir from students representing the 36 schools in the West Central District, which includes Marshall, Sayer said. There are 11 districts in Missouri.

"We are very proud of these students and the entire program as well," Marshall Superintendent Craig Noah said in an e-mail message Monday.

The students selected for All-State Choir will spend an extended weekend at Tan-Tar-A Resort in late January 2010 for clinics, rehearsals and a performance at the annual Missouri Music Educators Conference.

Last year, three students from Marshall participated in the state choir.
