Darlene Hankins, 71, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Cremation will follow with a private family memorial service at a later date. Born Oct. 24, 1937, in Sturkie, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Anderson Ward and Elsie Mae Busby Ward. On Oct. 10, 1959, she married Claude L. Hankins, who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall since 1984, moving from West Plains, and loved playing bingo. She was a fry cook and managed the Southside Laundromat in Marshall for several years.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Melissa Hankins Macias of Marshall; one son, Timothy Claude Hankins of Marshall; two grandchildren, Malcolm Hankins and Matthew Hankins; along with several other relatives in southern Missouri.
