Truck and combine batteries stolen from shed

Friday, October 9, 2009
A truck radiator valued at $1,000 and three 12-volt batteries valued at $125 each were reported missing from a rural Sweet Springs residence Friday, Oct. 9.

An incident report from Saline County Sheriff's Department indicated the items had been taken from a grain truck and two combines parked in a shed on the property. The property's owner said he'd last seen the equipment in July and only discovered the loss Thursday morning.

No damage was done to the truck or the combines during the theft; hoses and wires were taken loose and set out of the way, according to the report.

Footprints in and around the shed, the report says, were not those of the owner, but there are no suspects in the theft at this time.
