County officials note personnel changes

Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Saline County Commissioners announced two personnel changes during their meetings this week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, commissioners reported that Deputy James David Meyer of the Saline County Sheriff's Department is being transferred from the jail division to the road division. His salary will be $21,500, which will increase to $22,000 after six months and to $24,000 after one year. Meyer will also receive a $1,200 uniform allowance.

At their meeting Wednesday, Oct. 7, commissioners announced that Mike Malter will complete Joe Clements' term on the Common Road District board, which expires in 2012. Clements died in June.

Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner said she was proud to welcome Malter to his new position.

Commissioners will meet again Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the courthouse.

Sydney,

Did a Deputy leave the department or are they adding another Deputy to the Road?

It's really awful that our County is still stuck in the 1980's for law enforcement Salary!
