They arrived at 5:06 p.m. and found a house and garage engulfed in flames. The house had already collapsed and the detached garage collapsed soon after firefighters arrived, the deputy said.
The owner of the property, Edward Dysart, also responded to the scene and informed the deputy that the home had been unoccupied for two years and did not have utility service or insurance.
The remains of the buildings were too hot for responders to conduct an investigation into the cause of the blaze, the deputy said. The investigation will be initated at a later date, he said.
